QUESTROM—It was announced Tuesday that Boston University’s Business School will undergo another name change in recognition of a sizable gift from actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Earlier this year, the school had been renamed from the School of Management to the Questrom School of Business in gratitude of an unprecedented $50 million gift from BU trustee Allen Questrom. Gellar reportedly donated $50.000000001 million, narrowly outbidding the former namesake.
“When I heard about the name change I felt I was obligated to step in,” the Scream 2 star explained. “I had the fifty million lying around from all that Scooby Doo 2 money, but the real trouble was finding the penny, which I eventually picked up from a take-a-penny-leave-a-penny dish at a Star Market.”
“The BU community was so distraught over the Questrom news that I knew they would really appreciate seeing things go back to normal,” she added.
Students have already expressed their excitement with the change, RSVPing for the renaming ceremony in massive numbers. The ceremony has been scheduled for September 15th, after which the school will be known as the Quality School of Business.
“It just never felt right that the name of the school had someone’s name in it,” said Christopher Vance (CAS ‘17), “None of the other schools are like that. Ms. Gellar is doing the university a huge service preserving that trend.”
At press time, Allen Questrom was seen rifling through his wallet out of frustration.
